# A faster website, from € 240

Slow sites lose visitors and rank lower in Google. We measure where the delay is and fix it, without your site having to be rebuilt.

## From 11 seconds to 1, in one working day

A WooCommerce shop took 11 seconds to load at peak times. Its custom code still ran on PHP 7, so updates had been put off for years. We first adapted the custom code on a test environment, then tackled caching, the database and hosting. That same afternoon the site loaded in about 1 second, without a single change to the design.

## More than compressing images

Load time is rarely one problem. We measure where the time goes and fix the causes, in order of impact. That also improves your Core Web Vitals, the figures Google uses to judge the speed of your site.

- **Server response (TTFB)**: PHP 8.3+, OPcache with enough memory and the right server settings. You can't make up for a slow back end on the front end.
- **Database and queries**: Autoloaded options under 800 KB, missing indexes added, transients cleaned up and HPOS switched on for WooCommerce.
- **Object cache: Redis or APCu**: Serving repeated database queries from memory instead of fetching them again every time. Makes a real difference for shops and busy sites.
- **Caching, CSS and JavaScript**: Page cache, critical CSS first, the rest deferred or removed. Plus compression with gzip, Brotli or zstd.
- **Images, fonts and Cloudflare**: Modern formats, the right dimensions, fonts that block nothing and Cloudflare where it really helps.
- **Updates and security**: Overdue updates and outdated PHP versions are often the main cause. We deal with those safely along the way.

## Measure first, then fix

1. **Baseline measurement**: You send us your URL. We measure the current load time and scores, and find out where the delay comes from.
2. **Fixed price up front**: You get a list of what's going on and what it costs. No bill for hours afterwards, just a fixed amount.
3. **Do the work and prove it**: We carry out the optimizations and then measure again. You get a report with the load time and scores before and after, so the result is there in black and white.

### Page speed optimization

**from € 240** one-time, excl. VAT

- Free baseline measurement and analysis up front
- Fixed price, no surprises afterwards
- Report with before and after, incl. Core Web Vitals
- Updates and security included
- No changes to your design

The price depends on the condition and technology of your site. After the baseline measurement you know exactly where you stand.

## Good to know

### Will my site look different?

No. We work on the technology underneath: caching, database, scripts and server. The design and functionality stay as they are, unless you want something different yourself.

### How long does an optimization take?

You get the baseline measurement within one day. The work itself usually takes from half a day to a few days, depending on what we come across. You hear the timeframe up front.

### Does my site have to be hosted with you?

No, we also optimize sites hosted elsewhere. Part of the gain is in the server itself, though; if your host allows very little, the baseline measurement tells you what will be left on the table.

### What if my site is behind on updates?

That happens a lot, and it can be one of the causes. We deal with overdue updates and an outdated PHP version along the way, first on a test environment so your site keeps running in the meantime.

### How do I know what it achieved?

You get a report with the same measurements before and after: load time, Largest Contentful Paint, Total Blocking Time and the scores. Same measuring method, so the figures are directly comparable.

### Does this also improve my Core Web Vitals?

Yes. Improving Core Web Vitals is the same work in practice. The three figures, LCP for loading speed, INP for responsiveness and CLS for visual stability, depend on exactly the things we work on: server response, caching, scripts and images. The report shows them before and after, side by side. In Google Search Console you see the improvement a few weeks later, because Google uses data from real visitors over the past 28 days there.

### Does this work for WooCommerce and Magento too?

Yes. With WooCommerce the gain is often in the database and HPOS, with Magento in caching, indexers and the server setup. Both are part of our everyday work.

### Will my site stay fast after the optimization?

Largely, yes, but new plugins, heavy theme updates and growing databases chip away at it over time. With a maintenance contract we keep an eye on that; otherwise a new measurement after a year is not a bad idea.

### What do you use to measure speed?

GTmetrix, always from the same test location. It loads your site in a real Chrome browser and measures what actually happens at that moment. We use Google PageSpeed Insights at most as a second opinion: that score comes from a simulated connection on powerful hardware, so it says more about what is technically possible than about what your visitors experience. We measure before and after with exactly the same settings, so the difference is a fair comparison.
